Surfactants Ltd concentrates on the provision and application of surfactants, formulations, and associated products to the chemical industry. Since 2002, we have been providing expertise and practical skills, helping customers commercialise products for a multitude of uses, including cleaners, coatings, polymers, water treatment, paper processing, and lubricants.

At our facility in Trafford Park, Manchester, we have laboratories, warehousing and blending equipment, whilst using various manufacturing sites for supply and custom manufacture of speciality chemicals.

Surfactants Ltd was founded by Bob Ainscow, a well known specialist in surfactant technology who started his career in Lankro Chemicals in Eccles in the 1960s.

After 40 years working for Ugine Kuhlmann, ICI, Mazer Chemicals, PPG and BASF, Bob set up the company dedicated to unique innovative solutions using his experience in alkoxylation, nonionic, anionic, and cationic surfactant manufacture and formulation, which became a significant legacy we carry on.

For over a decade, Surfactants Ltd has invested in exploring benefits of plant based raw materials as building blocks for surfactants and polymer additives.

This endeavour has achieved several exclusive products including novel polymeric surfactants from bio waste products incorporating natural aromatic groups which present reliable performance and functionality while being environmentally sustainable.

Surfactants Ltd have successfully established relationships with overseas suppliers and assisted them in making high-quality raw materials for European markets which are used in detergent additives, hydrotropes, chelating agents, corrosion inhibitors, dispersants, demulsifiers, and antistatic agents.
