SURFAPOL  DF-18T

Description

SURFAPOL DF-18T is a formulated non-ionic copolymer mixture characterised by its low foam antifoam properties, low order of toxicity and lubricant properties.

Application

SURFAPOL DF-18T is an effective antifoam effective against foams stabilized by proteins, starches, polymers, and naturally occurring surfactants. Typical use concentrations are between 10 to 100 ppm. It is soluble in water below the cloud point temperature and dispersible/insoluble above the cloud point and therefore is more effective as an antifoam at temperatures above its cloud point. The cloud point will vary depending on the concentration of SURFAPOL DF-18T and other components present.  Alcohols, glycols, acids and synthetic surfactants will have the effect of increasing cloud point, salts and water soluble inorganics will reduce the cloud point.

SURFAPOL DF-18T may be used as supplied or blended with other components of antifoam formulations such as mineral oils, ester oils, alcohols, emulsifiers, silicones, waxes and fatty acid soaps. It may also be used as a low foam lubricity additive in water based lubricants and a low foam additive in cleaning agent formulations.
